About HeatherYoga, Feldenkrais Method®, Reiki, Art, Educator, YACEP, E-RYT
Heather Danso deeply values the possibilities for supporting our healing from physical and emotional trauma through restorative practices such as Yoga, the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education, and Reiki--practices that empower the practitioner to sense and expand their own intuition, self-knowledge, and choice. She teaches Yoga for Movement Disorders and Parkinson's, Prenatal Yoga, Feldenkrais Inspired Yoga classes, Awareness Through Movement®, Restorative Yoga, and is continually learning more about the practices she teaches through continued trainings. She creates processes of learning that help students earn their practice, own their own learning, and thrive as students and teachers. Heather incorporated the Feldenkrais Method® and Yoga into her life as part of her own healing journey. Her dance, yoga, and teaching background combine with her mindful approach to teaching movement—an approach based on body-awareness, compassion, and empowerment. She has expertise in functional anatomy, movement, and teaching methodology. This informs her students' practices, and great skill for adapting practices to support students' individual learning processes. Heather holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature with a focus on Secondary Education, and is a guild certified instructor of the Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education® (Seattle Eastside Feldenkrais Training).
